ASI 8154

The ASI 8154 is a recessed specimen pass box that lets staff move samples from a patient area into a laboratory without opening a door between the two rooms. It is built in stainless steel, measures 13-1/4 x 12-3/4 x 6 in. (337 x 324 x 152 mm), and fits a wall opening of 11-1/2 x 11 in. in walls 1-3/4 to 5-1/2 in. thick. ASI lists it as ADA compliant.

A specimen is placed in the box from one side, and once that door is closed it can be retrieved from the other. An internal latch keeps both doors from opening at the same time, so the pass box never becomes an open window between the patient side and the lab. A removable stainless steel drip tray catches spills and lifts out for cleaning.

The box is recessed into the wall opening. Type 304 stainless steel with a satin finish matches the rest of a healthcare accessory schedule and is easy to keep clean. Specify this unit where a clinic or hospital lab shares a wall with a collection room or restroom.
