ASI 3801-36-41

The ASI 3801-36-41 is a 36 in. straight grab bar from ASI's Matte Black Collection, with a 1-1/2 in. (38 mm) diameter and a powder coated matte black finish. It is the bar to specify when the restroom uses black accessories and the grab bars should match rather than stand out in satin stainless. Powder coating adds durability over the stainless steel underneath.

The bar mounts on a concealed flange 3-1/8 in. (79 mm) in outside diameter, made of 1/8 in. (3 mm) thick type 304 stainless steel with 2 screw holes and 3 locking dimples. A 22 gauge type 304 stainless steel cover, 3-3/16 in. (81 mm) in diameter and powder coated matte black, snaps over the dimples and hides the screws. The result is a clean flange with no exposed fasteners to collect grime.

A 36 in. bar is the minimum length for the rear wall of an accessible water closet under ADA 604.5.2, and the 1-1/2 in. diameter falls within the 1-1/4 to 2 in. range ADA 609.2 allows. ADA 609.4 sets the top of the gripping surface 33 to 36 in. above the finished floor, and ADA 609.8 requires the installed bar to withstand a 250 lb load.
