ASI 8523A

The ASI 8523A is a surface-mounted automatic roll paper towel dispenser for commercial restrooms that want touch-free towel service without running power to the wall. Its proximity sensor feeds a pre-set length of towel each cycle from a standard 8 in. or 9 in. wide roll up to 800 ft. long. The cabinet measures 13 in. wide, 17-3/4 in. high and 10-1/2 in. deep.

Because it is a no-touch unit, users never contact a lever or the cabinet to get a towel. The dispenser has stub roll capability for continuous dispensing. It runs on 4 D-size batteries, which are not included, so it can be mounted without an electrical connection.

ASI lists the unit as ADA compliant. Sensor activation means there is no operable part for users to push, the element ADA 309.4 limits to 5 lbf of force. The cabinet is 10-1/2 in. deep, so locate it outside circulation paths governed by the 4 in. projection limit in ADA 307.2, for example over a counter or in an alcove. It is a fit for healthcare, food service, and school restrooms where hygiene drives the specification.
