Description
The Bobrick B-254 is a surface-mounted sanitary napkin disposal from the ClassicSeries line in satin-finish stainless steel. It belongs in the accessible compartment of a women's or all-gender commercial restroom in offices, schools, and public buildings. Capacity is a 1.3 gal. plastic receptacle. The unit measures 10 11/16 in. wide, 15 1/8 in. high and 4 1/16 in. deep.
A self-closing panel covers the disposal opening between uses, so the contents stay out of sight and the opening does not stand open. The receptacle is removable and leak-proof, so custodial staff lift out the receptacle rather than reaching into the cabinet, which matters under OSHA bloodborne pathogen practices. The door locks with a tumbler lock, keeping the receptacle in place between service visits and out of reach of tampering.
Bobrick lists the unit as ADA compliant. Its 4 1/16 in. depth is just over the 4 in. projection limit of ADA 307.2, so mount it inside the compartment beside the water closet rather than along a circulation path. Keep the disposal opening within the 15 to 48 in. reach range of ADA 308. The satin finish matches Bobrick's other ClassicSeries accessories in the same room.
