Bobrick B-5806 x 36

The Bobrick B-5806 x 36 is a 36 in. straight commercial grab bar in 1-1/4 in. (32 mm) diameter satin finish stainless steel. It is made for toilet compartments, showers, and bath areas in commercial and institutional buildings. Bobrick lists it as ADA compliant.

The tubing has a slip-resistant satin surface that gives a wet hand purchase without the texture of a peened bar. Mounting is by snap flange: the bar's flange screws to the wall and a cover snaps over it, so no screw heads show on the finished flange. A peened surface version is available for locations that want more grip.

At 36 in. this bar meets the minimum rear wall length in ADA 604.5.2 for an accessible water closet. The 1-1/4 in. diameter sits inside the 1-1/4 to 2 in. gripping surface range of ADA 609.2. Per ADA 609.4 the top of the gripping surface goes 33 to 36 in. above the finished floor, and ADA 609.8 sets a 250 lb structural strength requirement for the installed bar.
