Bobrick B-6806 x 36

The Bobrick B-6806 x 36 is a commercial grab bar with 1-1/2 in. (38 mm) diameter tubing, 36 in. (915 mm) long, in satin finish stainless steel. It is listed by Bobrick as ADA compliant for toilet compartments, showers, and bath areas.

The stainless surface is finished satin with a slip-resistant texture, so it grips without the rougher feel of peening. The bar fastens through a flange to the wall, then a snap-on cover hides the screws. Bobrick also offers this bar with a peened surface for areas where users are wet and soap is present.

For the rear wall of an accessible water closet, ADA 604.5.2 requires a bar at least 36 in. long, with 12 in. on one side of the centerline and 24 in. on the other, which this length meets. A 1-1/2 in. diameter falls within ADA 609.2. Its mounting height under ADA 609.4 is 33 to 36 in. to the top of the gripping surface, and the finished installation must meet the 250 lb strength requirement of ADA 609.8.
