Bobrick B-6806 x 42

Bobrick's B-6806 x 42 is the 42 in. (1065 mm) length of its 1-1/2 in. (38 mm) diameter straight grab bar, in satin finish stainless steel. This length goes on the side wall of an accessible toilet compartment and is also used in showers and bath areas. Bobrick lists it as ADA compliant.

As supplied, the satin finish has a slip-resistant surface, which suits toilet compartments where hands are dry or damp. Where the bar will be soaped and wet, order the peened surface version instead. The snap flange fastens to the wall, then a cover snaps on to conceal the screws, so the installed bar shows a clean flange and no fastener heads.

ADA 604.5.1 sets the side wall grab bar at 42 in. minimum, no more than 12 in. from the rear wall and extending at least 54 in. from it. The 1-1/2 in. diameter is within the 1-1/4 to 2 in. range of ADA 609.2. Mount the top of the gripping surface 33 to 36 in. above the floor to satisfy ADA 609.4.
