Bradley 8520-001180

Bradley 8520-001180 is an 18 in. straight grab bar from the 852 Series, the company's 1 in. outside diameter line. It is made from 18 gauge stainless steel in a satin finish and surface mounts with concealed hardware. The slim tube is specified where a schedule calls for a 1 in. bar, such as tub surrounds, shower rooms, and residential-style bathrooms.

With concealed mounting the bar ends cover the wall plates and screws, so the finished wall shows only stainless. Bradley builds the 852 Series as heavy-duty stainless steel, and the satin finish cleans with ordinary restroom products. Bradley's specifications mark the bar Buy American Act compliant, which is useful on federally funded projects.

Bradley rates the 852 Series to support up to 250 lb. Note that the 2010 ADA Standards in Section 609.2 call for a gripping surface of 1-1/4 to 2 in., so a 1 in. bar should be confirmed against the project's accessibility requirements before it is placed in an accessible compartment.
