Bradley 8122-001180

Bradley's 8122-001180 commercial grab bar adds a peened Safety Grip finish to the 812 Series straight bar. It measures 18 in. long with a 1-1/2 in. outside diameter, is formed from 18 gauge stainless steel, and surface mounts on concealed hardware. Specify it for showers, tub surrounds, and any toilet compartment where wet hands need a bar with texture.

The peened surface is texture worked into the stainless tube itself, so grip improves without a coating that can peel or wear through. Concealed mounting hides the fasteners behind the bar ends, which leaves nothing on the wall for a vandal to back out with a screwdriver. The satin stainless base finish cleans with the same products used on the rest of the room. Bradley's listing marks the bar Buy American Act compliant.

Bradley rates the 812 Series to support up to 250 lb and states that a properly mounted bar meets ANSI A117.1, ADAAG, and UFAS. The diameter sits within the 1-1/4 to 2 in. gripping surface called for in ADA 609.2, and the bar should be anchored into blocking to hold the 250 lb load in ADA 609.8.
