Gamco 125-SWING-UP-PH

Gamco's 125-SWING-UP-PH combines a swing up grab bar with an integral toilet paper holder, so one wall fixture handles both jobs beside the water closet. The bar is a 1-1/4 in. (32mm) diameter type 304 stainless steel tube, 29 15/16 in. (760mm) deep and 11 13/16 in. (300mm) high, with exposed surfaces polished to a #4 satin finish. It is meant for ambulatory stalls, patient rooms, and care facilities where a fixed bar would get in the way of a transfer.

The tubing is assembled into a swivel hinge, and a detent holds the bar in the vertical position when it is raised. The knurled grip gives a positive hold for someone pulling up from the seat. Building the paper holder into the bar puts the roll within easy reach without a second wall fixture, and the whole unit hangs on a one-piece stainless steel back plate 3/16 in. (4.5mm) thick. Gamco tags this model as a green product.

At 1-1/4 in., the tube meets the ADA 609.2 diameter range for a gripping surface, and ADA 609.8 requires the installed bar to withstand a 250 lb load. The same swing up bar without the paper holder is listed separately.
