Gamco 150SX36T

Gamco's 150SX36T takes the 150 Series 36 in. (915mm) straight grab bar and adds the -T non-slip safety-textured grip, which Gamco lists as a peened grip. The 1-1/2 in. (38mm) diameter tube is type 304 stainless steel, polished to a #4 satin finish on exposed surfaces, and it installs on concealed snap flanges. Specify it for shower rooms, tub walls, and rear-wall positions where hands are likely to be wet.

The textured grip is worked into the stainless tube, so there is no coating to wear through or peel, and the bar cleans the same way as a smooth one. Snap flange mounting hides the screws under a cover ring, leaving no exposed fasteners. Type 304 stainless stands up to the disinfectants used in healthcare and school restrooms.

The 36 in. length satisfies the rear-wall minimum in ADA 604.5.2, the 1-1/2 in. diameter falls within ADA 609.2, and ADA 609.8 requires the installed bar to withstand a 250 lb load. Gamco offers the 150 Series in standard lengths from 12 to 48 in., and the smooth-grip version of this length is listed separately.
