Counter-Mounted Soap Dispensers

A counter-mounted soap dispenser puts the spout through the counter and draws soap from a bottle under the deck. This page lists the deck-mounted models from Bobrick and ASI, manual and automatic side by side. Bobrick's manual spouts come in 4 in. and 6 in. lengths with 20 or 34 fl. oz. top-fill bottles for liquid or foam soap. Its automatic spouts run through the ClassicSeries, TrimLineSeries, Fino Collection, and Designer Series. Finishes include polished chrome, brushed nickel, brushed brass, polished graphite, and matte black. ASI adds vanity mounted automatic dispensers in battery operated and plug in versions. Purchasing managers for office buildings, hotels, and schools use these to dress a row of lavatories in one finish.

Manual or automatic is the first call. Manual spouts such as the Bobrick B-822 (liquid, 4 in. spout, 34 fl. oz.) and B-8236 (foam, 6 in. spout, 34 fl. oz.) need no power. The 2010 ADA Standards require an operable part to work with one hand, without tight grasping, pinching, or twisting, at 5 pounds of force maximum (Section 309.4). Automatic spouts such as the Bobrick B-848 Designer Series foam dispenser meter a dose from a sensor. Match the spout to the basin, since 4 and 6 in. spouts reach different basin sizes. For a bank of lavatories, the B-820 top-fill reservoir holds 6 L and feeds up to six automatic dispensers. The B-830 SureFlo cabinet serves a manual multi-feed system at 12 L.
