Commercial Shower Seats

This page pulls the seats from ASI, Bobrick, and Bradley out of the shower accessories category so a seat can be picked on its own terms. The shapes are L-shaped and rectangular folding seats, a square phenolic seat, and a surface-mounted corner seat. Tops are padded or solid phenolic on stainless steel frames, in white and ivory. Beyond those sit reversible seats, bariatric seats with legs, fold-up bathtub seats, and shower and dressing area seats that double as a locker room bench. Facility managers outfitting a gym, a hotel, or a healthcare shower room use it to match a seat to the stall. Every seat here is listed as ADA compliant by its maker.

Shape comes first. The ASI 8206-L is a solid phenolic, white, L shaped seat 33 in. wide for the left hand. The ASI 8203 is a compact 18 in. wide rectangular seat. Bobrick's B-5181 is a reversible folding seat in ivory phenolic, and its B-918116R is a bariatric folding seat with legs for the right hand. For a tub, the B-518116 x 28 is a vinyl-coated folding bathtub seat, 15 in. wide, that rests on the end of the bathtub. The 2010 ADA Standards require a folding or non-folding seat in a transfer type shower compartment (Section 608.4). A seat in a standard roll-in shower must fold, sit on the side wall next to the controls, and reach to within 3 in. of the entry. The top of the seat sits 17 to 19 in. above the bathroom finish floor (Section 610.3).
