ASI Glass Dry-Erase Boards

ASI glass dry-erase boards are frameless markerboards in tempered glass, made by ASI Visual Display Products for conference rooms, executive offices, and design studios. Each board is listed in a magnetic and a non-magnetic version and in two mounting styles. Edge grip stand-offs hold the glass off the wall for a floating look, as on the non-magnetic 980820404. A hidden Z-bracket keeps the hardware out of sight, as on the magnetic 980831404. Sizes are 3 ft. x 4 ft., 4 ft. x 4 ft., 4 ft. x 6 ft., 4 ft. x 8 ft., and 4 ft. x 10 ft., and every size is made in each combination of magnet and mount. Interior designers and office fit-out managers specify glass where the board is part of the finish schedule.

Decide on magnetism first. A plain glass board is non-magnetic; the magnetic version adds a steel backer behind the glass so it holds magnets as well as marker. Then choose the mount. Stand-offs grip the edges of the glass and give the frameless look, while the Z-bracket hides the mounting entirely. ASI's glass is 1/4 in. tempered, low-iron UltraClear glass. Tempered safety glass per ANSI Z97.1 and 16 CFR 1201 breaks into small, blunt pieces if it ever fails. The surface will not ghost, stain, or scratch. Both mounts go on a finished wall, so find blocking or studs before you drill. A 4 ft. x 10 ft. board such as the 980830410 is the largest size listed, and a long wall takes more than one.
